Popcorn & Candy Floss Machine Rental in Singapore: A Planner's Guide

Popcorn machine cart at a Singapore event

Popcorn and candy floss carts are the easiest crowd-pleasers at any event — the smell alone pulls people in. Here's what actually matters when you rent one in Singapore: how many guests a cart can feed, what the venue needs to provide, and how to pair it with a photobooth so one corner of the room does all the entertaining.

How many servings you actually need

A single attended popcorn cart comfortably serves around 100–150 portions an hour, and a candy floss cart around 60–80 sticks an hour because each one is spun fresh by hand.

For a two-hour event, that means one popcorn cart handles roughly 200–300 guests without a queue. Candy floss is slower but far more of a spectacle — guests will happily wait a few minutes watching their stick get spun.

  • Under 100 guests — one cart, 2 hours, is plenty.
  • 100–250 guests — one cart of each, or extend to 3 hours.
  • Over 250 guests, or a fixed break time — add a second attendant so two servings run in parallel.

Space, power and venue rules in Singapore

Both carts are small and self-contained, but Singapore venues have their own house rules — confirm these before you confirm the booking:

  • Space — about 1.5m x 1.5m per cart, plus room for guests to stand in front.
  • Power — one standard 13A plug point per cart, within a few metres. Extension runs across walkways usually need taping down.
  • Indoors — air-conditioned function rooms are ideal. Outdoors in Singapore's humidity, candy floss collapses within minutes of being spun.
  • Hotel venues — some ballrooms charge a corkage or external-vendor fee for food carts. Ask your banquet manager early.
  • Allergies — candy floss is pure sugar and our popcorn is a simple salted or sweet recipe; flag any nut-free or halal requirements upfront.

Sweet, salted, or both

Classic salted popcorn suits corporate and cinema-themed events; sweet caramel-style popcorn tends to win at weddings and kids' parties. Offering both from the same cart costs nothing extra and doubles the number of guests who come back for a second cup.

Candy floss can be spun in your event colours — pink, blue, or a mix — which photographs beautifully and matches a wedding or brand palette with no extra work.

Why carts and a photobooth belong together

The strongest fringe-activity corner we set up is a photobooth with a snack cart beside it. Guests queue for the booth with something in hand, the line never feels long, and the cups and sticks end up in every photo.

Bundling also costs less than booking the two separately, because it's one delivery, one setup crew and one teardown.

Questions to ask your vendor

  • Is an attendant included for the full duration, or only for setup?
  • Are servings unlimited within the rental hours, or capped at a number?
  • Are cups, sticks, cones and a branded cart skirt included?
  • Does the quoted price cover delivery, setup and teardown at your venue?
  • How early does the crew arrive, and how long does setup take?
