Photo Booth Rental Checklist Singapore: 9 Questions to Ask Before Booking

Planning a corporate Dinner & Dance, family day, wedding or private party? A photo booth can give guests a shared activity and a print to keep. But two quotes that look alike may cover very different things. Use these nine questions to compare what you will actually receive before paying a deposit.
1. What props are included, and can I see real event photos?
Ask to see the props at a real event, not just a styled catalogue shot. Check whether signs, glasses and accessories will stand up to repeated use, and whether someone will keep the prop table tidy during service.
If you prefer a cleaner setup, an AI photo booth can offer themed transformations without relying on physical props. AI is an optional add-on to our classic packages, not part of the base booth.

2. What backdrop is included, and how will it look at my venue?
Request photos of the actual backdrop and frame the vendor plans to bring. A loose curtain can crease or sag; a fitted fabric backdrop may give a cleaner finish. Neither is automatically right for every event — the important questions are its size, stability, colour and whether it suits your ballroom or foyer.
Check if a different backdrop or a custom design costs extra, and ask how much clearance the stand needs behind the group.
3. What does ‘unlimited prints’ mean for a group photo?
Unlimited sessions and unlimited copies are not the same promise. If six friends pose together, ask whether each can take home a copy, whether there is a per-session print limit, and whether extra copies can be requested on the spot.
Also confirm the format: 2×6 photo strips or 4R prints, and whether a digital copy or gallery comes with the booking. Get the agreed print policy in your quote.

4. What is the total price after delivery, setup and teardown?
Ask for an itemised final quote that covers travel to your venue, setup, operation, teardown, any late-night or location charges, and what happens if you extend on the day. Check whether setup time is outside your guest-facing rental hours.
Our packages start at $388 for a 2-hour classic photobooth, $488 for 2 hours with a video guest book, and from $588 for a 3-hour Premier booking. AI is optional at +$100 for 2 hours or +$150 for 3 hours; photo magnets or keychains are a separate add-on. Tell us the date and venue for a complete quote rather than assuming every location has identical delivery costs.
5. What camera, lighting and printer will be used?
Ask to see a sample print made with the same equipment. A camera and controlled lighting matter in a dim ballroom, but the quality of the final keepsake also depends on the printer, paper and print layout. Ask how long a print takes in practice when the queue is busy instead of relying on a headline speed claim.
Our classic photo booth uses a Canon EOS R100 and Godox MS300V studio light, with instant 2×6 strips and 4R options. Confirm your preferred print format when you enquire.

6. What happens if venue Wi-Fi is unreliable?
Ask which features need internet access: taking a photo, applying a print frame, AI generation, QR downloads and gallery delivery may work differently. If the venue has weak reception, ask the vendor for a contingency plan and which parts of the experience will remain available.
At AI Booth SG, we continuously explore and refine our AI photobooth technology to deliver creative, high-quality transformations. Our focus is on preserving guests’ facial likeness, producing natural-looking results and creating memorable experiences customised to each event. AI portrait transformations typically take around 30 seconds to generate, but timing varies with the theme and connectivity. Check connectivity with your venue ahead of time if AI portraits or instant digital sharing are important to your event.
7. Can the print design and AI theme match my event?
Ask whether your names, company logo or event artwork can appear on the print, and how many design revisions are included. For an AI experience, ask for an example of a custom theme and whether guests can personalise details within it.
For PwC’s Children’s Day and Family Day, our AI photo booth event examples include office-adventure scenes, junior auditors and superhero portraits. Those are examples of tailored themes, not a guarantee that every concept is available off the shelf. Plan theme artwork and approvals before the event.

8. How much floor space, power and setup access are needed?
Allow roughly 2m × 2m for the booth and backdrop, plus separate queue space so you do not block an entrance or fire exit. Our photo booth needs one standard 13A power point within 5m; confirm where it is before the team arrives.
Plan for 45–60 minutes of setup access before guests arrive, then agree on a loading route and teardown window with the venue. Ask for the final footprint if you are placing the booth in a narrow foyer or mall space.
9. Is an on-site attendant there for the whole booking?
An attendant can guide guests, manage the queue, watch the printer and help groups choose their layout or AI theme. Ask if that person stays throughout guest-facing hours or only handles setup, and who resolves a paper or equipment issue during the event.
Our photobooth service includes a friendly on-site operator. For a busy D&D or roadshow, tell us your expected guest count and peak period so we can plan the flow rather than promise a fixed number of photos per hour.
Quick checklist to send with your quote request
Save these nine questions and ask each vendor to answer them in writing. You can then compare the same inclusions side by side, rather than comparing prices alone.
- Props: What is provided, and who keeps the station tidy?
- Backdrop: What size and style will be set up at my venue?
- Prints: How many copies can each group receive, and in which format?
- Fees: Does the final quote include travel, setup, teardown and any surcharges?
- Equipment: Can I see a real sample print from the camera, light and printer?
- Connectivity: What still works if internet access drops?
- Customisation: Which print-frame and AI-theme revisions are included?
- Venue: What space, power and setup access do you need?
- Staffing: Is an attendant present throughout the operating hours?
